Collection and Use of Personal Information

[True Backup App] facilitates the management and backup of personal contact information already present on the user's device. While using the app, users may choose to interact with their contact list voluntarily. Personal information, including the user's contact list, is accessed (by the app) and utilized solely with the explicit consent of the user. Users have the option to decline providing this information, although it may limit their ability to fully utilize some app-related features.

Upon obtaining consent from the User, [True Backup App] imports the user's contacts from their phonebook and stores them locally in Android's Database System. The App provides functionalities for the user to manage their contacts, including editing names, phone numbers, and handling duplicates. These activities are performed locally on the user's device and do not involve the transfer of data to external servers or third parties.

Export of Cleaned Contacts

Users have the option to export their cleaned contacts to a CSV File. This export functionality enables users to create a backup of their contacts for their own personal use, including restoration purposes.

Storage and Backup

[True Backup App] utilizes the Android’s Storage Access Framework (SAF) to allow users to choose where to save their exported CSV files. While Google Drive is recommended for backup purposes, users have the flexibility to select their preferred storage location.

Data Protection

[True Backup Ltd] is committed to protecting the privacy and security of user data. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard user information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Payments

[True Backup App] offers additional features that can be unlocked by making a one-time payment for the entire session. The payment is made via M-Pesa, a mobile money service provided by Safaricom. Users may choose to make payments for these features by depositing funds to our designated Paybill Number using M-Pesa. The term "Session" refers to the unlimited period of time that this app stays installed on a particular device without resetting app data or uninstalling.

Payment Processing

Upon successful payment, M-Pesa generates a 10-digit alphanumeric code that indicates the completion of the transaction. [True Backup App] requires only this code to verify the validity of the payment. We do not store any payment information, such as user identities or sensitive transaction details provided by M-Pesa.

Privacy of Payment Information

[True Backup Ltd] respects the privacy of users' payment information. We do not have access to, store, or process any personal or financial data associated with M-Pesa transactions beyond the verification of the payment code. Users' financial transactions are securely handled by M-Pesa in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms of service.

User Consent

By initiating a payment through M-Pesa for additional features within the App, the User acknowledges and consents to the processing of their payment information as described in this Privacy Policy.
